Founded in 1922, La Coop fédérée is the largest agri-food enterprise in Quebec and sits among the top 100 largest cooperatives and mutual’s in the world, across all sectors.

La Coop fédérée represents more than 100,000 members in 97 cooperatives with facilities spread across Quebec, New Brunswick, Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. More than 10,000 people are employed by La Coop fédérée and its revenues are almost $5.2 billion. Including its network, La Coop fédérée has almost 16,000 employees and revenues of $8.3 billion.

La Coop fédérée is present throughout the agri-food chain and, as a retailer, it provides farmers with the necessary goods and services for operating their enterprises, including energy, hardware and farm machinery supplies. Its network includes six brands: Elite and La Coop (livestock and crop production, and grains) BMR and Unimat (hardware and farm machinery), Sonic (energy) and Olymel (meat processing).

INVOLVEMENT IN THE PROJECT

The objective for the group sow barn project is to create wealth for its producer-members by being involved in different links of the value chain.
